gearanswered.

How these answers get made

gearanswered exists for one kind of search: a specific question about a specific product that returns pages of near-misses. Reviews that never mention the basket size. Forum threads that trail off. Listicles for a different model year. We write the page that should have existed.

The method

  • Answer first. Every page opens with the verdict. The detail below it exists to justify and qualify that verdict, not to pad word count.
  • Checked against the source. Claims come from manufacturer spec sheets and manuals, and from owner-community consensus where the manual is silent. Where those disagree, we say so.
  • Hedged where honesty requires it. Products get revised. Where a spec varies by model year or region, the page says "confirm against your serial number" instead of guessing. A confident wrong answer is worse than a caveat.
  • No invented numbers. If we cannot verify a capacity, dimension or rating, the page does not state one.

Independence

A small number of pages carry a clearly marked "Recommended pick" link to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, gearanswered earns from qualifying purchases made through those links. The links are added after the answer is written and never change what the answer says: pages where no genuinely compatible product exists carry no link at all. Everything else on the site has no sponsorships and no advertiser relationships.

Corrections

Every page carries its last-checked date. When a manufacturer revises a product and an answer goes stale, the page gets rechecked and re-dated, not quietly abandoned.
