gearanswered participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, gearanswered earns from qualifying purchases.

Where the links are

A minority of pages carry a single clearly marked "Recommended pick" link. Every one of them is labelled on the page itself, so you never have to guess whether a link earns us anything. Pages with no suitable product carry no link at all, and most pages on this site have none.

What it does not change

• The answer is written first. Links are added afterwards, and no answer is altered to make a product look necessary.
• Where the honest answer is that a part only comes from the manufacturer, or that you do not need to buy anything, the page says so and carries no link.
• Calculator results are arithmetic. They do not change based on whether a page has a link on it.
• Nobody pays for placement here. There are no sponsored posts, no paid reviews and no advertiser relationships beyond the affiliate programs named on this page.

Prices and availability

Prices and availability on linked pages are set by the retailer and change without notice. We do not quote prices on this site because any figure we printed would be wrong within a week.
