- Akko documents the 5075B Plus as hot-swappable with support for both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches. 5-pin switches seat without clipping the plastic guide legs.
- Stock switches vary by colorway and listing. Many retail units ship with Akko's V3 Creamy Yellow Pro linears, but themed editions ship with other Akko switches, so check your box or order page to identify yours.
- Linear, tactile, and clicky switches all work. The sockets accept any switch feel as long as the pin layout is standard MX.
- Only full-height switches fit. Low-profile formats use a different housing and will not seat in this board.
- The board is multi-mode wireless. Switch choice has no effect on connectivity or battery, since switches are passive parts.
What does not fit
- Magnetic Hall-effect switches. Akko sells magnetic rapid-trigger boards in other lines. Those switches need a magnetic-sensor PCB and will not function in the 5075B Plus.
- Optical switches. These require infrared sensing on the PCB and will not register on a conventional mechanical board.
- Non-MX stems. Alps, Topre, and choc-style low-profile switches are physically incompatible.
If yours is a different 5075
Akko's 5075 family has several similarly named members, including the 5075S and plain 5075B alongside the 5075B Plus. The models differ in features like wireless modes and the knob, and Akko has revised internals between runs. The hot-swap answer on this page covers the multi-mode 5075B Plus. Before ordering switches, confirm the exact model name printed on the underside of your board or on the retail box. If your unit's label mentions magnetic or Hall effect anywhere, it belongs to a different product family and needs magnetic switches instead of MX mechanicals.
What owners actually do
The 5075B Plus community mostly treats stock Akko switches as good enough to keep, which is unusual in this class of board. Owners who do swap tend to stay inside Akko's own CS and V3 catalogs for consistent sound with the stock case foam, or move to factory-lubed Gateron linears. The standard hygiene applies: support the PCB while pressing switches in, verify both pins are straight first, and pull switches straight up with the included tool. A key that dies after a swap is almost always a bent pin, which you can fix by removing the switch and straightening the pin gently.
