- The RadRover 6 Plus introduced a semi-integrated battery that sits down into the frame. It is a different mount and connector from the external packs used on the RadRover 5 and earlier, and the two families do not interchange.
- Rad's current replacement is the Safe Shield semi-integrated battery, sold on Rad Power's site with the RadRover 6 Plus named in the compatibility list alongside the RadCity 5 Plus and RadRunner 3 Plus.
- Authorized Rad dealers and bike shops that carry Rad parts can order the same pack.
- Genuine OEM 6 Plus packs also circulate on eBay and marketplace sites, usually pulled from parted-out bikes. These work but carry the usual used-battery risks: unknown cycle count and no warranty.

Why third-party packs mostly do not exist
The aftermarket battery industry built its Rad catalog around the shark-style external pack that fits 2018 and newer Rad models. Those listings almost always carry an exclusion line naming the RadRover 6 Plus, RadCity 5 Plus, RadRunner 3 Plus, and RadMission as incompatible. The 6 Plus case shape, mounting rail, and connector are Rad-specific, and generic manufacturers never tooled up for it in volume. Read any non-Rad listing's compatibility text carefully: if it does not name the RadRover 6 Plus explicitly, assume it will not fit.
What owners actually do
Most owners buy the Safe Shield pack from Rad and treat the matching updated charger as part of the purchase, since the old charger is documented as incompatible. Owners who want more range go a different route entirely: the Rad owner community has developed dual-battery kits and controller upgrade paths for the 6 Plus from specialist third-party shops. Those are modifications, not drop-in replacements, and they change the bike's electrical behavior, so treat them as a separate project from simply replacing a worn pack.
Before you order
Confirm which bike you actually have. Rad sold the RadRover 5 and RadRover 6 Plus at overlapping times, and the batteries are completely different: the 5 takes the external shark-style pack, the 6 Plus takes the semi-integrated pack. Check the model name on the frame or your order confirmation, and match the pack physically: the 6 Plus battery drops down into the frame rather than clipping onto a rail behind the seat tube. Also verify your charger situation before checkout, because a new Safe Shield pack with only an old charger on hand leaves you unable to charge safely.
