The details
- The K75 is an 82-key, 75-percent gasket-mount board with a hot-swappable PCB. Manufacturer listings state compatibility with most 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches.
- 5-pin switches drop straight in. There is no need to clip the plastic guide legs.
- Stock units ship with Womier-branded pre-lubed switches, and the exact type differs between listings: some configurations ship linear, others tactile. Check your box or order page if you want to buy more of the same.
- Linear, tactile, and clicky switches all work. The sockets do not care about switch feel, only the MX pin layout.
- Only full-height switches fit. Low-profile formats use a different housing and will not seat.
What does not fit
- Magnetic switches. Womier sells the SK75 TMR, a magnetic rapid-trigger board with a similar name. Magnetic switches require a magnetic-sensor PCB and will not register in the K75.
- Optical switches. These need infrared sensors on the PCB and will not register on a conventional mechanical board.
- Low-profile and non-MX switches. Choc-style, Alps, and other alternative mounts are physically incompatible.
The trap to avoid
Womier's model names are close together: K75, S-K75, WK75, WD75, SK75 TMR. Most of them are conventional MX hot-swap boards, but the SK75 TMR is magnetic, and buying switches based on a lookalike listing is the easiest way to end up with parts that do not fit. If the name on your unit's label or listing includes TMR, Hall effect, or rapid trigger, it is a magnetic board and needs magnetic switches instead. Before ordering, confirm the exact model printed on the underside of your board or on the retail box. One more check worth doing: if you plan to pair new switches with Cherry-profile keycaps, verify the LED orientation on your own unit by pulling one keycap and looking at where the LED sits relative to the stem. Confirming on your unit takes ten seconds and removes the guesswork.
What owners actually do
The K75 is a community favorite at its position in the market, and owners treat the stock switches as a starting point rather than a destination. The typical path is a full swap to a name-brand linear or tactile once the stock set feels scratchy. Practical habits from owner threads: pull keycaps and switches with the included tool rather than pliers, press replacement switches in over a supported part of the PCB, and inspect both pins for straightness before insertion. If a key stops registering after a swap, a bent pin is the first thing to check, not a dead socket.
